Allow me to recognize some people without whom I would not have survived the past few years. My daughter Michelle started us on a fantastic journey in 2007. After 3 years, I feel like this is just the beginning. The future holds boundless opportunity and possibility for us and I am thrilled to be a part of it! I thank her for pouring her heart and soul into the store and for her ability to make it all turn out all right, regardless of the challenges. Michelle is now back at college full time and has a 24/7 job at home. She and her husband Michael have 7 children and a Rottweiler. Thank goodness, she still takes the time to help me and I love her for who she is and what she does.
My sister Bonnie played an integral role in the opening of our business and has been our biggest fan over the years. BG, we love you! My daughter Kristi listens well and provides advise when cross roads present themselves. Having run a business of her own, her empathy and input is invaluable. Although she is 2,000 miles away, I feel closer to her than ever before. Kris, it means more to me than you will ever know to be able to reach out to you and feel loved. Now to Romeo... I am so grateful for him. I was given a gift of love and he never ceases to amaze me. He proposed on New Year's Eve 2009 and we plan to marry New Year's Eve 2010. He helps me through each day with understanding and consideration of my wants and needs. He is the epitome of the good man. Yes, Ladies, there is such a thing!
The friends we have made through good times and not so good, bring constant joy and smiles into our lives. Our gratitude is unending. Special thanks to the 4 Musketeers, my BFF, my soul mate who keeps me grounded, and all the wonderful people we are lucky to count among our true and lasting friends. Life gets in the way sometimes, but we are there for each other and make lemons out of lemonade. A very talented and selfless person taught me that. I never forget that the worst day running a scrapbook store is still better than the best day working anywhere else.
As you follow the Charleston Scrapbooking blog, you will find that I am usually not so emotional, and focus on finding the humor in all situations. Let's have some fun together!
Come see me and we'll chat! The Mom aka Karla
